After reading all this I thought it would solve a few things, one people have been whining, complaining about making the game more challenging (when they can’t do it themselves). Now they can rush threw the easy content and turn “hard mode” on and have the challenging content they whined about with out having to affect the game for casual players and new players.

What’s not to like about it? They have their challenging content, a way to control who has access, and the uber bragging rights of a PvE title.

I don't see what everyone is complaining about, I mean, it's not like it can make the protector titles any more meaningless than they already are...

Honestly though, If this hard mode is implemented well (full, well-thought-out skillbars on everything, perchance?) this could just be something awesome to breathe new life into pve. It's not like anyone is forcing you to do it.

Yea Mango persuaded me to do Prophecies again despite how long it takes to get to lvl20 with those 500exp quests, but this may give me alot more motivation to continue on.

Yeah the way I see it Hard Mode is optional. I think If you play in Hard Mode you will get Guardian title but if you play normal you will get Protector title.

Um, i did that mission without either skill... with heroes and hench... I just pulled one boss at a time. simple as that. Aggro one, and lead it up the stairs and round the corner. once a safe distance from the others, open up on him with your party. It was pretty easy, really. Sure i died the first tiem thru when i didn't do that, but it was easy as pie the second time, when i learned from the error of my ways.

As to hard mode, I reserve judgement until this "in a while" that gaile mentioned. Quit giving them crazy ideas and wait to see what they actually have planned.

Please just stop posting... The last few comments i've read from you (not just in this thread) have been completely idiotic or not needed.

Since when were people complaining? The only complaints i've seen were regarding whether or not Anet will make this time related as they are already hated as it is. That and someone saying that they just made him have to work harder to get Prot... the prots still have to get Guardian too, lol.

Lol, never mind Great Northern Wall. Lemme at Chahbek Village!

Edit: Actually just a thought. Hard Mode for Ascalon missions could involve having to fight the lvl24+ Charr you fight during Titan Source/Last Day Dawns.

Some might complain about having to redo missions... not me. I redo missions all the time. Most of the tiem to help friends and guild mates, though sometimes just for kicks, or to try a new build. Really, people have actually requested a hard mode... how well this will be introduced... I'll wait and see.

I hope anet thinks out this hard mode carefully and doesn't turn missions into new farming areas. Also I hope they take into account how little mesmers and assassins are used in pve missions and make them useful in these "hard" missions.

OK NOTICE!!


I had 18/20 Today, so after reading this forum, i went to beat the last 2 missions i need for masters. I did, but now it says 20/20, and it says highest rank, so even if you weren't 20/20 before today, you couldn't have done Hard mode.

As for hard mode, i can only hope that it wont be time limited. Eg: you need to do this mission in 5.30 whilst in hard mode. Im hoping on new optional goals you have to forfill in the missions, eg. killing a very imporant somebody, whilst holding a point somewhere. This would force you think and split (and yes, get a sin in your group).

Yeah because having to spend 290k and travel into almost every single explorable of the game and make builds to kill them effectively is cheap... Everyone has Elite Skill Hunter these days... not.

Actually, it's the structure of PvE that encourages that. You're always better off playing a high DPS party than a 'finesse' party (whatever that means.) It doesn't matter whether the mission is timed or not.

Ok.. serious.. we need to straighten some things out.

New Guardian Title- It is not yet obtainable by anyone. (People who had 20/20 before this, and people who get it now.) It has not yet been implemented. I know this because before todays new title I had 18/20 Elona completed, and after the update, I did the last 2, and theres no option for Hard mission, or a new title.

Elite Skill hunter Title- Yes, a few more people will get this, and then all 3 and then maybe even get KoaBD, BUT do you not think Anet will add another one after that, for 15? or 20 titles max? (Since there staying towards Anchor Man, I would suggest the title to be "My Guildhall smells of Rich Mohagany.") Lol!

So re-cap, I covered the Elite skills titles, and the new titles.. oh yea, People seriously, you are overreacting.

Better off doesn't mean we want to. Maybe in the land of the moderators everyone who joins you to do a mission is always playing an Ele, Warrior, Necro or Monk. But in the real world, people play Mesmers, Rangers, Paragons and Ritualists... and maybe want to do something with slightly more care and take there time.

Nobody actually wants to have a time based Masters. Rushing shouldn't be forced upon us.

geez guys, you complain that pve is too hard, and when anet start do somthing about it you go mad.

anet is in the early stages of implementing "Hard Mode", so don't be a fool and take it that everyone who has protector of titles at max now, won't have to play through them again on hard mode.

I think it might be a good idea, I just want to see how they do it. If it's just a time based thing I don't really like it. I've never been a fan of those kind of missions you have to hurry through.
